In the last ten years, blue diamonds have recorded price increases of 50 % to 100 %. Even in times of economic uncertainty, they remain in demand and are considered a stable, high-growth investment. Particularly intense color grades such as “Fancy Vivid Blue” are highly coveted by collectors and investors worldwide and regularly reach top prices. While a one-carat blue diamond can cost up to CHF 150,000, exceptional stones achieve record values of over CHF 2 million per carat at auction.CHF 45,000 per carat for slightly greenish stones up to CHF 250,000 per carat and more for particularly intense color grades. In contrast to emeralds or peridots, which are attractive alternatives but lag far behind green diamonds in terms of price and value development, natural green diamonds are considered exclusive investment objects with high potential for value appreciation.
